Crafting bespoke prints. From your blueprints, to my print, bridging the gap between idea and physical prototype.
An online moniker, to design business. Discover why I chose the name, and what my goal is.
Creating art through technology, a median ever evolving.
Growing up I’ve always tried to push my limits with the limitations set by the technology I had. From the first refurbished laptop I was given as a birthday present, to a small netbook, all the way up to today, I’ve pursued in using what I have to create. The link between technology and art has always fascinated me. After discovering 3D printing, I shortly went down a rabbit hole of the creative possibilites capable with such a machine.
Seeing a project go from idea, to design and blueprint, all the way up to a prototype that you can physically hold via 3D printing amazed me, and bridged the link of technology and art for me.
“Idle Kami” comes from my online moniker. Kami was a nickname my mum used to give me as a child, but spelled “Cammy”, I added the “Idle” part because growing up I was always on the computer, looking Idle to out-lookers, but busy learning how things work. I like the idea of using the term “Design” because it keeps what I can do open to other avenues of art. My interests lay with technology and as times change, so does technology, so by keeping it “Design”, I give myself access to explore all avenues.
